Discover the satisfying craft of making your own drawing and painting media from handmade charcoal, and urban-foraged pigments, in this immersive one-day workshop.

Firstly, we will explore suitable raw materials for charcoal making, and show you how to make a simple kiln. You will discover how to create artists' drawing charcoal sticks, and how to make all-natural spray fixatives. You'll also learn how to create smudge-proof and waterproof charcoal sticks for mixed media work, and handmade Conté sticks of various tones.
