STUDIO

Through our research at wild studio, we are exploring the abundant possibilities for making natural art media from the resources that are locally available to us. We are reconnecting the process of art making to the places and lives that we already inhabit, (as gardeners and foragers) and find that almost everything we need can be grown and processed by us, to create vibrant paints, inks, glues, as well as effective drawing and painting tools.

Our trials and explorations include coaxing colour from a wide variety of plants, crafting art-making tools (brushes, pens, drawing charcoal) from our own harvested materials, and foraging for other creative possibilities within the living spaces around us.

We hope to cultivate a sense of resourcefulness through the sharing of our practice. Through documentation and educational offerings, we hope to inspire and share with others the possibilities for creating quality, meaningful art practices that have a strong connection to, and respect for place.
