5g dried magenta flowers and petals from the wild studio gardens.
 
These varieties of dahlia are a unique and essential part of the wild studio colour palette. A vivid magenta ink can be made from these petals with a simple boiling water extraction, and smoothed with Gum Arabic.
 
The magenta ink made from this variant may be modified by altering the pH, or with the addition of metal mordant such as alum or iron.
 
The ink is eventually fugitive, however offers relative stability for up to 12 months out of direct daylight.
 
The quantity of plant material supplied is enough to craft approx 45ml ink.
